Agric pilot Project seeks to promote organic agriculture in salesian centers and among nearby communities

Salesians of Don Bosco in the Africa of Great Lakes Province ( Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda) are implementing a pilot agriculture project that seeks to promote organic farming in the salesian centres and nearby communities.

The project which is now being implemented in Don Bosco Gatenga Youth Center has many components among them are the environment conservation as well as training youth and supporting vulnerable farmers to get jobs and vegetables that will help in fighting malnutrition among the children.

According to Felcien DUSABIMANA, the Interim Coordinator of the Salesian Planning and Development Office, the project is a pilot phase that will be scaled up once it is successful.
