Visit to Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre Palabek by Austrian Development Agency (ADA)
On July 24, 2023, Dr. Katja Y. Kerschbaumer, Head of the Coordination Office for Development Cooperation at the Austrian Embassy in Kampala, and Mag. Corinna Proll, Desk Officer for Gender and Development at ADA Austria, visited Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre in Palabek for a project monitoring visit under the programme “Gender Matters for Green TVET.”
They toured the classrooms, accommodation facilities, the farm and later had discussions with stakeholders and green club plus gender club members on the progress of Gender Matters for Green TVET Programme implementation. They were impressed by the activities so far being implemented.
Gender Matters for Green TVET is a four years programme being implemented in five TVET Centres namely: Don Bosco VTC Palabek, Don Bosco VTC Bombo and St. Joseph VTC Kamuli in Uganda and Don Bosco TSS Gatenga and Don Bosco TSS Muhazi in Rwanda with funding from the Austrian Development Cooperation and Jugend Eine Welt.
