Closing Ceremony of the 2024-2025 Academic Year at Lycée Don Bosco Buterere-Bujumbura
On June 27, 2025, at Lycée Don Bosco Buterere-Bujumbura, with the support of their educators and the entire Don Bosco Saleseian community of Buterere, boarding students took the opportunity to celebrate the end of the 2024-2025 academic year in a warm, family-like atmosphere.
The evening was marked by various performances, including modern dances, presentations on friendship and community spirit, live music, comedic sketches, and more. Throughout the event, they expressed heartfelt gratitude to God, who kept them united throughout the year and enabled them to successfully complete their exams.
The students also conveyed deep appreciation to their parents, who continually dedicate themselves wholeheartedly—body and soul—for their children’s well-being. In a speech addressed to the students, the director of the boarding school, Fratri Samson Bigirindavyi, reminded them of three core values: Precision (knowing what you want), Passion (loving what you want), and Patience (having a spirit of waiting).
He advised them that during the upcoming vacation, they should demonstrate to their parents that they have been at Don Bosco by maintaining a spirit of joy and diligent work. As he said, “If you do not want to change, you do not want to grow either.”
He also took the opportunity to thank the parents for their continuous availability and support—both moral and material—throughout the year and especially during this evening. He ended his speech by praying that God blesses everyone.
