ProFuturo Replacement Technology Toolkit Distribution Begins Across Beneficiary Schools in Rwanda
Kigali, Rwanda – 16 June 2026-The Salesians of Don Bosco in Rwanda have officially begun the distribution of ProFuturo replacement technology toolkits to participating schools, marking another important milestone in the ongoing effort to strengthen digital education for vulnerable children and young people across the country.
The distribution exercise, which commenced on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, will provide schools with replacement digital learning equipment to ensure the continuity and sustainability of the ProFuturo Digital Education Program. The initiative follows the recent receipt of replacement technology kits, including tablets, computers, and supporting accessories, designated for schools that have been implementing the program over the years.
Since its launch in Rwanda in 2019, the ProFuturo Digital Education Program has played a transformative role in expanding access to quality digital learning opportunities. Implemented through a partnership involving the Ministry of Education (MINEDUC), the Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB), ProFuturo, and strategic partners including the Salesians of Don Bosco, the program has helped bridge the digital divide in underserved communities.
The replacement of aging equipment is a critical step in maintaining the effectiveness of digital learning environments established under the project. By providing schools with updated devices and accessories, the initiative ensures that teachers can continue delivering engaging lessons and that learners can access interactive educational content without interruption.

The distribution will benefit schools across the Salesian Supervised schools under the ProFuturo Digital Education Program in Kigali and the Southern Province. Through the continued support of ProFuturo and its partners, these schools are better equipped to deliver innovative teaching and learning experiences to thousands of students each year.
Speaking about the importance of the replacement exercise, Mr. Dominic Uwarugira, the Project Officer in the Planning and Development Office emphasized that sustaining access to reliable technology is essential for maximizing the long-term impact of digital education investments. The new equipment will help maintain classroom functionality, support teachers in lesson delivery, and enhance students’ digital learning experiences.
The Salesians of Don Bosco and beneficiary schools express their sincere gratitude to ProFuturo and all project partners for their continued commitment to improving educational opportunities for children and young people in Rwanda. This support continues to empower schools, strengthen teaching practices, and provide learners with the digital skills needed to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.
As the distribution progresses, the Salesians remain committed to ensuring that the donated equipment reaches the intended schools efficiently and contributes to the continued success of the ProFuturo Digital Education Program across Rwanda.
