Jugend Eine Welt Supports Start Up Tool Kits To Solar and Electrical Graduates at Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre Palabek-Uganda
Jugend Eine Welt through Planning and Development Office has supported solar and electrical graduates at Don Bosco VTC Palabek with startup tool kits to enhance their entry into the labour market under the scholarship program for 2025 to 2026 cohort. A total of 24 (11F &13M) graduates received tool kits officiated by Deputy Principal Fr. Diomed Nijimbere, Mr. Mutala Innocent Program Manager and Mrs. Nakasolo Lydia Project Accountant in the presence of trainers and Job Service Officer. This took place on 20TH October 2026 at Don Bosco VTC Palabek campus.
The event was a celebration of empowerment and opportunity, showcasing the toolkit specifically designed to enhance the employability experience of graduates aspiring to thrive in the green economy. During the ceremony, the Project Manager highlighted the significance of the toolkits in supporting graduates, particularly young women, in transitioning into the labour market.
The Deputy Principal expressed gratitude for the support extended to the graduates noting that the toolkit will greatly assist in bridging the gap between education and employment. Teachers and Job Service Officer present echoed this sentiment.
One of the beneficiaries Aneno Gladys Okot noted: ‘receiving the tool kit is a turning point for me. During my training, I learned the practical skills needed to succeed in electrical but lacking the right equipment was going to be my biggest hurdle in starting out. This tool kit bridges this gap. I am now ready to start my independent work in my community’
Thanks to our development partners Jugend Eine Welt for the financial and technical support. This is under the project Solar Skills Training for Don Bosco TVET Centres (Next Phase) 2025 to 2026 being implemented in three Don Bosco TVET Centres in Uganda namely; Don Bosco VTC Bombo, Don Bosco VTC Palabek and St. Joseph VTC Kamuli.
