Jugend Eine Welt up-skills Don Bosco TVET Trainers on Solar Water Heating An d Drying in Uganda

Jugend Eine Welt through Don Bosco  Planning and Development Office (PDO) skilled Don Bosco TVET Centre’s trainers in Uganda on solar water heating and drying. The Training of Trainers took place from 3^RD to 8^TH January 2022 at Don Bosco VTC Bombo. The ToT was attended by participants from Don Bosco VTC Palabek, Don Bosco VTC Bombo and St. Joseph VTC Kamuli.

The training aimed at imparting current market knowledge and skills on solar water heating and drying to enable trainers offer relevant training to students.  The ToT involved installation of solar water heater at Don Bosco Bombo.

The ToT was facilitated by Uganda National Plumbers Association (UNPA).

This is under the project titled Solar Skills Training and Environmental Education Programme initiated by Jugend Eine Welt (JEW) with funding from the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADA). The project is being implemented in three Don Bosco TVET centres in Uganda namely; St. Joseph Vocational Training Centre Kamuli, Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre Bombo and Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre Palabek.

This is a four years project from 2019 to 2022.  The overall objective of the project is vocational training and learning for sustainable development as a contribution to inclusive, equitable and quality education (SDG4) and reliable and sustainable energy for all (SDG7).
