Gratitude to Missioni Don Bosco Turin for Supporting Refugees’ Skills Development in Palabek
The Salesians of Don Bosco in Palabek, Uganda, express their heartfelt gratitude to Missioni Don Bosco Turin for their continued support in empowering refugees in the Palabek camp. This assistance has been instrumental in enhancing the refugees’ skills across various development areas.
As part of this initiative, Missioni Don Bosco Turin provided a vehicle to facilitate the launch of a Community Driving School within the refugee settlement. Brother Hubert Twagirayezu, the Economer and Director of Don Bosco Palabek Vocational Training Center (VTC), conveyed his appreciation, stating that the support will enable the training of drivers among both youth and adults.
He explained, “We are currently procuring additional equipment, including Signage, so we can promptly begin teaching driving skills to those in the camp and the surrounding communities.”
Brother Hubert emphasized that this initiative aligns with their ongoing commitment to assist the less fortunate, aiming to empower vulnerable communities to become self-reliant and innovative despite economic challenges.
