Ejo Heza Kabuga Youth Centre Supports Vulnerable Children Through Education, Recreation and Care

KABUGA, RWANDA — Vulnerable children and young people at Ejo Heza Kabuga Youth Centre have expressed their appreciation for the continued support of Salesian Missions, New Rochelle Procure, as they navigate challenging living conditions and limited opportunities within their families and communities.

The centre, established by the Salesians of Don Bosco at Saint John Bosco-Rango Parish, provides a welcoming environment where children and young people can access educational support, recreational activities and psychosocial accompaniment.

Some of the beneficiaries have experienced street-connected living, while others face difficulties attending school. Through the centre, the Salesians seek to accompany these young people and help them build safer and more hopeful futures.

Support Through Recreation and Youth Activities

Last week, the children received recreational materials, including playing balls, to support their participation in sports and other activities organized through the centre’s oratory services.

The donation is expected to contribute to the children’s physical well-being, social interaction and personal development, while providing opportunities for positive engagement in a supportive environment.

For the Salesians, recreation is an important part of accompanying vulnerable young people, helping them develop relationships, discover their abilities and experience a sense of belonging.

A Commitment to Accompanying Vulnerable Youth

The support forms part of the broader efforts of the Salesians of Don Bosco and their partners to accompany children and young people through the Reintegration and Education Project.

The initiative seeks to respond to the challenges faced by vulnerable children, including barriers to education, difficult family circumstances and social exclusion.

Through collaboration with partners such as Salesian Missions, New Rochelle Procure, the Salesians continue working to strengthen the support available to beneficiaries at Ejo Heza Kabuga Youth Centre.

Beyond material assistance, the centre provides a space where young people can receive encouragement, participate in activities and access support according to their needs.
