Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre Palabek Highlights Graduate Success in Radio Programme

Palabek, 04 December 2025 – The Palabek Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre (VTC) organized a radio programme aimed at showcasing the experiences of its graduates, highlighting their success stories, and discussing their professional careers within the labour market.

The primary goal of the programme is to raise awareness about gender inclusivity in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) beyond the local community, thereby enhancing public perceptions of women’s and girls’ participation in vocational education. The initiative seeks to reduce gender barriers and facilitate smoother transitions into employment and self-employment for female graduates.

During the broadcast, graduates Allan Okema and Joan Ayoo expressed their gratitude towards DBVTC. They shared how the skills and knowledge acquired at the centre have empowered them to successfully operate a group electrical shop. They also emphasized their commitment to using their business to support fellow graduates and promote job opportunities within the community.

This initiative is part of the Gender Matters For Green TVET Project, which is funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and Jugend Eine Welt.
