Don Bosco Rwanda Advances SUSTAIN-IT TVET Partnership

Partners prepare for expert training in Zimbabwe and review progress on digital learning and TVET activities

KIGALI, Rwanda — September 10, 2026 — Don Bosco Rwanda is continuing its participation in the SUSTAIN-IT project, an Erasmus+ initiative bringing together education and TVET institutions from Europe and Africa.

The project’s 11th coordination meeting was held online on September 9, 2026, with partners from Spain, Italy, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Namibia reviewing progress across key work areas. Don Bosco Rwanda is among the project’s partner institutions.

Partners reported progress in sharing the Smart Step online course with teachers and institutions in their respective countries. The course is particularly relevant for participants preparing to attend the upcoming expert training in Zimbabwe.

The meeting also reviewed the project’s use-case blueprint, with most partners having completed their review and additional feedback expected by September 13.

Don Bosco to Attend Zimbabwe Training

Don Bosco Rwanda and APODISSI have selected the Harare training scheduled for December 3–4, 2026. The training will be replicated through Zimbabwean partners HIPH and SIMUKAI.

Preparations include collecting participant information, confirming training venues and sharing accommodation recommendations.

The partnership is also preparing its second project webinar, scheduled for December 11 at 10:00 CET, targeting teachers and schools.

Meanwhile, partners are discussing the final project meeting and conference in Namibia, tentatively planned for late October or early November, with final dates to be confirmed.

The next SUSTAIN-IT coordination meeting is scheduled for October 28, 2026, with discussions expected to focus on the Zimbabwe training, use cases and the purchase of project kits.

For Don Bosco Rwanda, continued participation in SUSTAIN-IT provides an opportunity to strengthen international collaboration and contribute to initiatives supporting innovation and capacity development in the TVET sector.
