On Friday, June 5th, 2026, the global community united under the banner of World Environment Day. At the Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre Bombo, the campus vibrated with a unique energy. Driven by the school’s passionate Green Club students, came together not just to celebrate nature, but to explore the profound interconnectedness of human health, cutting-edge technology, and environmental stewardship.

The day’s events proved that saving the planet starts with taking care of ourselves and each other.

A Healthy Mind, A Healthy Body, A Green Planet

The commemoration kicked off with a powerful twist. Recognizing that a sustainable world requires resilient caretakers, the Green Club hosted an enlightening Health Talk focusing on HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention and care.

The session urged the youth to prioritize their well-being and protect themselves with the same ferocity they use to defend Mother Earth. One of the day’s most resonant messages perfectly bridged the gap between personal health and global conservation:

“You can only give what you have. A healthy mind and body equals a healthy environment.”

The talk set a deeply reflective tone for the day, reminding the young crowd that human thriving and environmental preservation are two sides of the same coin.

The Great Debate: Can Technology and Nature Coexist?

Next, the intellectual sparks flew during a highly anticipated student debate: Environmental Conservation vs. Technology.

Instead of viewing tech as the enemy of nature, the bright minds at Don Bosco championed a more progressive, integrated future. The student body reached an inspiring consensus: while today’s youth can no longer be separated from technology, they possess the unique power to channel it for good. The takeaway was clear—by incorporating smart technology into conservation efforts, we can ensure that life on this planet prevails.

From digital monitoring of ecosystems to tech-driven waste management, the debate highlighted the vocational center’s forward-thinking mindset.

Roots for Tomorrow: Seven Trees, One Lifelong Pledge

To wrap up a day of profound discussion, it was time to get hands-on. The climax of the celebration saw the school Principal alongside the student body coming together to plant seven symbolic trees across the campus. The principal said that a tree is a sign of hope and a sign of life.

As the final shovels of soil were turned, the entire Don Bosco community made a collective pledge to continuous conservation. These seven new saplings stand not just as a gift to the local ecosystem, but as a living testament to the school’s dedication to a greener, healthier tomorrow.

Through education, dialogue, and action, the Don Bosco Green Club didn’t just celebrate World Environment Day—they planted the seeds for a sustainable future.
