Students at Don Bosco Gatenga TSS Celebrate International Day of Environmental Protection

On April 27, 2024, 50 students from the Gender Club and the Green Club at Don Bosco Gatenga TSS came together to commemorate the International Day of Environmental Protection through the Gender Matters for Green TVET project. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment among their peers.

During the celebration, students engaged in various activities such as cleaning the entire campus, putting up signs highlighting the significance of preserving Environment and Gender to educate others on sustainable practices.

They also received guidance from a gender officer on how to uphold environmental principles as well as on how they should behave during holidays.

To conclude the event, students shared soda, fostering a sense of community and collaboration in their efforts to promote environmental conservation and Gender principles in the centre.

The Gender Matters for Green TVET Project, a four-year initiative  implemented in five Don Bosco TVET Centres across Uganda and Rwanda, with funding from the Austrian Development Cooperation and Jugend Eine Welt.
