Salesians of Don Bosco in Rwanda Host Stakeholders Sensitization Forum on ProFuturo Digital Education Project
Kigali-Rwanda: Salesians of Don Bosco in Rwanda recently organized a stakeholder’s sensitization forum on the ProFuturo Digital Education Project, which aims to provide digital education solutions to Primary Schools in the country.
The event brought together educators, school principals, Profuturo Coaches, and the Management of the Salesian Planning and Development Office.
Father Ufitamahoro Servelien, the Director of the Planning and Development Office for the Salesian Province of Africa of the Great Lakes (Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi), welcomed the participants at the forum and highlighted the importance of the ProFuturo Project in bridging the digital divide and providing quality education to children in disadvantaged areas.
He stated, “The ProFuturo Digital Education Project is a crucial initiative that will empower students and improve their learning outcomes through technology and innovative teaching methods. So, you are welcome to this forum and we hope that you will have fruitful discussions”
During the forum, participants shared their experiences and best practices, as well as provided feedback on the Program.
It also discussed ways to enhance the impact of the project and move forward in achieving its objectives.
Mr. Dominique Uwarugira, the ProFuturo Project Coordinator stated that “The ProFuturo Project is a significant step towards ensuring access to quality education for all children in Rwanda and mosly those from rural areas.”
The Project in Rwanda is implemented by 3 key ProFuturo Partners namely Salesians of Don Bosco, World Vision Rwanda and the UNHCR.
During her visit to Rwanda last year, Mrs. Magdalena Brier, the General Manager of ProFuturo Foundation highlighted the importance of the country in the ProFuturo project, with over 150 schools implementing the Digital Education Program in collaboration the organizations mentioned above.
After visiting schools in Rwanda, Mrs. Brier noted the enthusiasm of students, teachers, and parents towards using ProFuturo’s digital education tools.
By investing in digital education, ProFuturo Programme is preparing the beneficiary students for success in the digital age and ensuring that they have the skills they will need to compete in the global economy.
