PHOTOS: Visit at Don Bosco Muhazi TVET School

It is 11h00 am on 24th April, 2023. We are at Don Bosco Muhazi TVET School which locate in a serene and green landscape near the Muhazi Lac. Entering the first class, young people in their 1st year formation are learning pastry. A JSO team enjoys meeting the young who welcomed them with a delicious bread that they have been able to make with their own hands.

On the next door, another team of young people are learning how to use computers. Despite the small number of equipment compared to the young people in need, they are happy to learn the technology with the supervision of their Teachers. Up to the next workshop, another team of young people are taking a break in a Masonry trade while another group of Literacy program is enjoying the course with hope that very soon they will be able to write and read so that they are enrolled in different courses that are offered at the centre.

For sure, It is a kind of good experience for whoever like to empower the young people. Don Bosco Muhazi is dominated by a big number of youth from low income families. To sustain their care, salesians of Don Bosco rely on collaborative partnership with benefactors! In fact, on the next side, a new building is rising, thanks to the five year ACTEC NGO funded project which is now contributing to the improved technical education to the young people.

Don Bosco Muhazi offers courses in Culinary Arts, Masonry, Tailoring and soon a new module on Agriculture will be, thanks to another Project called “Gender Matters for Green TVET”, thanks to the support from Jugend Eine Welt which seeks to increase the opportunities for girls and women to also participate in TVET training. The project also seeks to enable them to have better access in the labor market after graduation. To support our mission kindly contact us via contact@aglpdo.org
