Don Bosco Vocational Training Center Palabek Collaborates with Junior Achievement Uganda on Gender Matters for Green TVET Programs
On March 21, 2025, the Don Bosco Vocational Training Center Palabek hosted a one-day Training of Trainers (TOT) program focused on essential business skills, conducted in collaboration with Junior Achievement Uganda. This initiative aims to enhance instructors’ capabilities in teaching business skills to their students, while also helping them develop and implement the business ideas selected during a recent two-day bootcamp.
The TOT program witnessed the active participation of 16 instructors, comprising 11 male and 5 female educators. The training emphasized gender inclusivity, aligning with the center’s commitment to fostering an equitable learning environment in their vocational training programs.
The preceding bootcamp attracted impressive engagement from students, with 147 participants (98 males and 49 females) actively involved. Throughout the bootcamp, students had the opportunity to develop and select viable business ideas, laying the groundwork for transforming these concepts into real-world ventures.
This collaborative effort received generous funding from the Austrian Development Cooperation and Jugend Eine Welt, enabling both organizations to promote gender matters and enhance the quality of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in the region. The partnership highlights the importance of equipping students with essential business skills, particularly in green sectors, allowing them to contribute to sustainable development within their communities.
Both Don Bosco Vocational Training Center Palabek and Junior Achievement Uganda are dedicated to empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs, with a focus on inclusivity and sustainability in their educational programs.
