Exhibition and Round Table Conference on Technical and Vocational Education and Training to be held at Don Bosco Gatenga Technical Secondary School

Kigali-Rwanda – With the support of Don Bosco Tech Africa, from the 29th to the 30th of December 2023, an exhibition of eight trades in three Salesian Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) centers will take place at the Don Bosco Gatenga Technical Secondary School.

The participating centers include Don Bosco Gatenga TSS, Don Bosco Rango TVET School, and Don Bosco Muhazi TVET School. Additionally, this event will showcase the achievements of the graduates from these schools who are currently employed in the labor market.

In addition to the exhibition, the Round Table Conference will address the issues that arise in TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) in general, along with potential solutions.

There will also be an opportunity to engage in discussions with all participants of the exhibition and share experiences, with the aim of achieving a TVET education that effectively addresses the challenges present in the labor market.

In addition to the students, representatives from the public sector, private sector, parents, and the general public will also be attending this event.

According to the Job Service Office in the Planning and Development Office of the Salesians of Don Bosco, this initiative is part of a long-term program aimed at encouraging young individuals to pursue technical and vocational courses.

The goal is to support the Rwandan government’s plan of achieving a knowledge-based economy, where TVET will contribute to graduating young people who are able to respond to the needs of the changing labor market.

This is also part of the plan to prepare a better tomorrow for the youth and the country as a whole.’
