Exciting Business and Life Skills Bootcamp Empowers Youth at Don Bosco Vocational Centre in Palabek
Palabek, Uganda– A three-day Business and Life Skills Bootcamp was held at Don Bosco Vocational and Training Centre in Palabek Refugee Settlement, inspiring young people in the community to develop their skills and pursue a brighter future.
The event brought together 43 enthusiastic students from the Agriculture and Solar and electrical installation programs, including 10 girls, all eager to learn new skills that will help them succeed in life and work.

The intensive training was led by Sendea Institute for Energy and Management, a key partner in the Gender Matters for Green TVET Project. The program focused on building essential entrepreneurship and life skills needed to excel in today’s competitive job market. Participants gained practical knowledge to confidently navigate the world of work, encouraging a spirit of entrepreneurship and personal growth.
The benefits weren’t limited to students alone—staff members also took part in the training to acquire new technical skills. These skills will soon be passed on to students, thanks to the expert guidance of Sendea Institute’s trainers.
This impactful initiative is supported by the Austrian Development Cooperation, Jugend Eine Welt, and the Planning and Development Office.

At the closing ceremony, all participants received certificates of completion, celebrating a significant milestone in their journey toward self-reliance and professional success. The event inspired the youth to take charge of their futures with newfound confidence and skills.
