Community Bonding and Support: Easter Celebration at Kabuga Youth Center
On May 11, 2025, the Kabuga Youth Center in Rango, Huye District, hosted a heartwarming event that brought joy to the community.
The leadership of the center organized a special gathering with children from low-income families who frequently visit the Center for recreational activities.
This event was held in the spirit of Easter celebration and fellowship, emphasizing the importance of sharing and community bonds. Participants shared gifts and enjoyed a communal meal, reinforcing the values of brotherhood and kinship.
Father Thierry Bashemezimana highlighted that such gatherings help foster sibling-like ties among children, teaching them the significance of sharing what they have and recognizing that they are part of a larger family.
In addition to the meal, the event included the distribution of soaps and pens, aimed at promoting good hygiene and encouraging children to focus on their education. Father Thierry explained that many of these children come from rural areas and low-income families with limited access to basic hygiene supplies, which often affects their well-being and moral development.
The event not only provided joy and relief but also served as an educational opportunity, nurturing a sense of community, responsibility, and hope among the young participants.
