Don Bosco Vocational Training Center Palabek and Junior Achievement Uganda Host Student Business Exhibition

On October 17th, 2025, Don Bosco Vocational Training Center Palabek, in collaboration with Junior Achievement Uganda, hosted a student business exhibition at the center. The event was attended by 167 students (63 females and 104 males). Ten student-run businesses participated by showcasing their products, including JA Harvest Company, which emerged as the overall winner. Other participating companies included Work for Life Furniture Company, Metal Doctors, Good Light Electrical and Solar Technical Services, MCM Original Auto Parts, Charcoal Briquette, Sunshine Liquid Soap, Beauty Bag Enterprises, Save the Environment, and Concrete Production.

The primary objective of the exhibition was to strengthen students’ entrepreneurial skills and foster practical experience in business management and innovation.

During the event, Tom Sausi from the Office of the Prime Minister, who was the guest of honor, encouraged students to continue their efforts both in school and outside. He emphasized that the skills and knowledge gained in school prepare students to serve the community and become market-ready after graduation. He praised Don Bosco’s reputation for producing high-quality graduates.

The principal of Don Bosco Palabek, Hubert Twagirayezu, expressed his satisfaction with the students’ impressive display, stating he was pleasantly surprised by their outstanding performance. He urged students not to focus solely on results, but to view challenges and achievements as opportunities for growth and improvement.

This event is part of the Gender Matters for Green TVET Project, funded by ADC (Austria Development Cooperation) and Jugend Eine Welt.
