Celebrating Father Elie Nyandwi: A Remembrance of Life and Service
On June 5th, 2024, a solemn Mass was held at Mary Help of Christians Kimihurura Parish in Kigali, Rwanda to honor the life and legacy of Father Elie Nyandwi, sdb, who passed away on June 1, 2024.
The wider Salesian Community, Parish Christians, and the youth and students of Don Bosco IFAK came together to pray for Father Elie, who served as the Principal of Lycée Don Bosco Ngozi.
The Mass, led by Father Gatete Innocent, coincided with Father Elie’s funeral ceremony in Ngozi, Burundi.
Father Elie was celebrated as a joyful individual who embraced his calling to serve God as a Salesian with wholehearted dedication.
During the service, attendees were reminded not to fear death, as it is believed to be the gateway to eternal life.
Father Elie’s commitment to his faith and his community served as an inspiration for all who knew him. As the Salesian Community mourns his passing, they also celebrate his life and the positive influence he had on those around him.
Father Elie Nyandwi may no longer be physically present, but his spirit and dedication to serving others will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
