200 Youth Graduate at Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre Palabek during the 6TH Graduation Ceremony.
On 22nd February 2024, Don Bosco VTC Palabek was happy to send 200 skilled youth (79 female & 121male) to the labour market in the following skill areas: electrical, solar, agriculture, building, carpentry, tailoring, hairdressing and mechanics.
The ceremonies started with the celebration of the Eucharist lead by Fr Ubardino, Rector of the Salesian community and Fr Amatus. In his homely and in his speech, Fr Ubardino reminded the graduands that the skills they acquired from Don Bosco have to benefit themselves, their family members and all the society.
The event was honored by many guests such as the Chairperson Education and Health Lamwo District Local Government, Mr. Onek Charles. In his speech, he recognized the marvelous realizations of the Salesians in the Refugee Settlement and in the host community. Other guests included partners’ representatives from Office of the Prime Minister, the Little Sisters of Mary Immaculate of Gulu, AVSI, IRC, PDO Kamuli, Comboni Samaritans of Gulu and parents/guardians of the graduands.
The graduates expressed their heartfelt appreciations to Don Bosco and development partners for the support that enabled them acquire practical skills that has transformed their lives.
It was with great joy that Don Bosco VTC PALABEK took the opportunity to launch the eco-toilets for ladies built with the Jugen Welt from Austria. The day was made colorful by different entertainments and a sharing of a meal.
