Don Bosco Muhazi TVET School Celebrates Feast of Saint John Bosco with Hopeful Ceremony
On Friday, 31 January, 2025, Don Bosco Muhazi TVET school hosted a vibrant celebration in honor of the Feast of Saint John Bosco. The event was filled with hope and positivity, especially for the young people coming from underprivileged backgrounds.
The day began with a solemn Holy mass, presided over by the Director of Don Bosco Muhazi who is also the AGL Provincial Vicar, Father Murindangabo Frederic and Father Kubwimana Crispin, the Gishaka Parish Priest. The ceremony included the offering of sacraments, with several young people joining the Catholic Church, getting baptized, and receiving confirmation.
A highlight of the event was the awarding of certificates to 90 young graduates who completed their vocational studies in the previous academic year. Among them, 48 students completed masonry training, 25 completed Culinary Arts, and 17 completed other vocational courses. Impressively, 84% of the graduates have already secured jobs in various sectors, showcasing the success of the school’s vocational training programs.
The celebration also featured traditional dances that added to the festive atmosphere, bringing together students, staff, and guests in a joyous display of culture and talent. Overall, the event was a reflection of the school’s commitment to empowering young people and providing them with opportunities for a brighter future.
Father Murindangabo Inspires Youth to Follow in the Footsteps of Don Bosco
In a lively and uplifting sermon, Father Murindangabo spoke to the youth about the inspiring life and mission of Don Bosco. He recounted the story of Don Bosco’s dream at a young age and his tireless dedication to caring for the youth, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Father Murindangabo reminded the youth of the importance of humility, transformation, and love as exemplified by Don Bosco. He urged them to be happy, hopeful, and always eager to learn and grow.
The event also featured words of gratitude from the representative of Parents, Mr. Munyarugerero Charles, who praised the Salesians for their work in the community and encouraged the graduating students to become ambassadors of the Don Bosco Muhazi TVET School. The Parish Priest of Gishaka and the Education Officer in Gikomero sector also spoke, urging the youth to be confident and strive for personal and national development.
Also students praised the Educative community for the tireless effort in supporting them towards the dreams.
