Culinary Arts Students from Don Bosco Muhazi TVET School Visit East Gate Hotel

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, Culinary Arts students from Don Bosco Muhazi TVET School had the opportunity to visit East Gate Hotel, a renowned three-star hotel located in the Eastern province in Ngoma district. The students were warmly welcomed by the Manager, Selaphine Mukeshimana.

During the visit, the students were given a tour of various areas of the hotel including the reception, bedrooms, laundry, bar, and kitchen. They were provided with detailed explanations of the services offered at the hotel, including the different types of rooms available such as Executive and standard rooms. In the kitchen, the students observed various cooking machines and techniques, while in the bar they learned about the different types of drinks and their prices.

The students expressed their gratitude to the management of East Gate Hotel for their hospitality and also thanked ACTEC and their school for providing them with valuable skills. The Manager of East Gate Hotel, Selaphine Mukeshimana, expressed her appreciation for the positive relationship with the school and reiterated the hotel’s commitment to providing internship opportunities to TVET students.

Job Service Officer (JSO) Jean d’Amour Niyigena also extended his thanks to ACTEC and the management of East Gate Hotel for their exceptional customer care, internship opportunities, and job placements over the past three years. The visit was not only educational but also highlighted the importance of industry partnerships in providing practical experience for students in the hospitality sector.
