AGL PDO Director Participates in Spain Training on Sustainability and Digitalization in TVET
Spain — From September 29 to October 3, 2025, in Derio, Spain, a group of TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) educators from Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Rwanda are participating in the SUSTAIN-IT training program, aimed at promoting sustainability and digital transformation in technical education.
Among the delegates is Father Servilien Ufitamahoro, the Director of the Salesian Planning and Development Office in AGL (Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi). His participation highlights Salesians dedication to advancing sustainable development and innovative teaching approaches in vocational education.

The training, held at Politeknika Texorierri, focuses on empowering educators with practical and inclusive pedagogical tools to engage students in climate action and sustainability efforts. The program features an array of activities, including an online SUSTAIN-IT e-Toolbox, which provides educators with a comprehensive methodology for integrating green skills and digital literacy into their teaching.
Participants will also engage in sessions on challenge-based learning methods for environmental awareness, social entrepreneurship, personal and transversal skills, and inclusive teaching strategies to foster equity in classrooms.

This initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen capacity in TVET institutions across Africa, preparing students to become proactive agents of change in climate resilience and social innovation. Father Servilien Ufitamahoro’s involvement underscores Salesians’ commitment to equipping youth with the latest tools to support sustainable development goals.
The training aims to create a new wave of environmentally conscious and digitally skilled professionals crucial for addressing the pressing climate challenges of today and tomorrow.
